Dear PickleballChicks… Hello from chilly Ontario, Canada! I’m going to let you in on a Sharon secret: one of the biggest challenges of running PickleballChicks™ tournaments isn’t corralling 70 Chicks on court or booking clubs — it’s helping Chicks land in the right bracket so the games feel fun, fair, and fabulous. So.... Before heading north for the summer, I ran a quick PickleballChicks™ experiment in The Villages, FL that I thought was going to let me sort players into their perfect bracket in real time, right on the courts on tournament day. I worked hard on what I thought might be the magic solution and could not wait to see it crowned a winner. Well… let’s just say the experiment did not sparkle. In fact, it failed rather spectacularly. But that’s what experiments are for, right? What looked good on paper turned into a hot mess on the court. Like, "when will this be over" awkward. A huge and heartfelt thanks to the Chicks who stayed positive and helped us test something new — we will never speak of it again lol. Last Week’s Vibe Check question was: What’s your pickleball vibe these days? 💖 Results: Most of you said you’re craving match ups where you have a little skin in the game — friendly competition, a bit of spice, and yes, maybe a “hell ya!” moment or two.
