Dear PickleballChicks, Today we celebrate!! We celebrate what happens when a bunch of feisty, fierce Chicks play together for a cause that touches all of us in some way. I am wildly proud to announce that, as of this weekend, PickleballChicks has DONATED OVER $10,000 to local breast cancer charities! This incredible dollar amount didn’t happen all at once in some glitzy ballroom with $1,000 tickets. It happened at little events, on hundreds of courts, in cities across Canada and the U.S. Some donations were small. Some were bigger. But event after event, we stuck to our mission: to be the home of feel-good pickleball for women — and to raise money to help end the scourge that is breast cancer. This past weekend’s Battle for the BRIGHT Run Crown in Hamilton, Ontario, put us over the $10K mark with a $4,000 donation. And there is another possible $1,000 donation coming this week, which could push our weekend total to $5,000. To say I was emotional when I tallied up the numbers would be an understatement. I’m not too shy to tell you I burst into tears. I cried and cried because of the pride I felt in everything we have done together. For all the love that comes onto the courts with us. I cried knowing that we are making a difference — even a small one — by having the backs of Chicks who face breast cancer and come out swinging… ROARING in its ugly face. And I cried because 2½ years ago, breast cancer was something that happened to “other people.” Now it’s in my inner circle. And here I am, a little Chick in a pink skirt, adding up dollars I never imagined we would be able to donate. Please celebrate this $10,000 milestone with me, it belongs to ALL of us. I simply could not have made these donations without the love, joy, encouragement and beauty each and every one of you brings to my inbox, to our courts and to our communities here in Canada and the US. Oh, and let's not forget the cute skirts ... they deserve a shout out too :) When women support each other, we can change the world. Just BEING on the court is the WIN. Signing off with so much love and gratitude… Yours, Sharon! Head Chick (and tickled pink) Founder of PickleballChicks.org💖 PS I apologize for looking like a crazed person in the video preview photo ... I'm what they call a "one-take" wonder ... I hit record on the video and what I get the first time, is what we get lol! |

Dear PickleballChicks, Last night I was tired before I even hit the court. But I went because some of my besties were going to be there and, importantly, I knew there would be good snacks. Sometime in game 1 my knee whispered, I want to be watching Netflix. But the whisper was quiet, so I was like, suck it up knee. Sometime in game 4, my right eye started twitching. Like full on, twitch twitch twitch… and it kept twitching for like the longest, weirdest 15 seconds of all time. About this time...
Dear PickleballChicks, Let’s be honest: buying a $300 paddle makes my heart go pitter patter and scrolling socials for drills and tips feels good in the moment, but neither of those things are getting my game to the next level. And sorry sister, they aren't going to get yours there either. (Sucks really, because shouldn't a $300 paddle automatically make us better?) The solution works for every level and is fun right off the bat. And that solution is? DATA. Data I get from AI after I upload...
Dear PickleballChicks, The other day, I was on the court and time after time, after time, after OMG time, we lost the point because one of us was guilty of the: Unnecessary Speed Up. Or, as I shall call it, now and forever: The USU. You know the shot. The ball is low. The rally is neutral. Nobody asked for a bang-fest to break out. And yet… Hello, wind it up and let ’er fly! Hello, cross-court “give ’em hell” drive! Into the net. Out. Out. Oh, so far out of bounds sister... Or, for me, worst...
